Network-centric organizations are new organizational forms emerging in knowledge intensive industries. This organizational form consists of small, self-directed work groups. These work groups collaborate with each other and with work groups from other organizations.
The network-centric approach is aimed at tapping into the hidden resources of knowledge workers supported and enabled by ICT and social technologies associated with Web 2.0 and Entreprise 2.0.
Management in network-centric organizations are known as value-network leadership.
